Business positivity in the North East

It was wonderful to hear that this month businesses in the region are showing signs of growth.

This is the latest research by R3’s Business Distress Index (BDI), R3 regularly report on the successes and struggles companies face across the UK and the latest figures show that 55 per cent of firms in the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside are showing at least one of the five key indicators of growth that it measures.

This comes on the back of the news that the North East is leading the way in economic recovery, Lloyds Bank said its index of activity among UK companies, where anything above 50 represents growth dipped from 59 to a still robust 58 last month, but companies in the North East saw the strongest expansion with the region clocking up a record score of 64.8!

To illustrate how well we are doing in comparison to other regions; South West at 59.4, the East at 58.9 and London at 58.4.

This is a welcome success for our North East businesses and it seems that finally the economy is growing again.
