Be Brave Counselling Agency
What inspired you to set up your own business?
After seeing fellow veterans taking their own lives, I completed a degree in counselling at University and I’m setting up my own counselling agency, offering free counselling to veterans and blue-light workers.
What challenges have you faced setting up your own business and how have you overcome them?
There are a lot of challenges, including the daunting fact of being your own boss, but I believe that with my army training behind me, I can overcome any obstacle, as I am so serious about this project.
As a veteran, what traits and skills did you carry forward into business?
My determination has kept me in good stead so far. Also, being in charge of a team is second nature to me now so I believe this can help me and my team overcome any challenge.
What would you say to other veterans thinking of setting up their own business?
I personally would just say ‘go for it!!’. Veterans have an underlying self-determination and belief that does not normally arise until we are pushed, so pushing yourself to start a new venture will unlock all of your potential.
