Smith and Jewell (Trading as S J Engineering Specialists Ltd) are an ISO 9001 accredited company. We are primarily a UK based sub - contract design and metalwork engineering company providing precision engineering services to a diverse range of customers across the defence, aerospace, water, marine, industrial and commercial sectors. We have a number of capabilities including:

1. Project Management and Design. We provide CAD technologies using Solid Works and Sheet Works; product design and development; design for manufacture and assembly; rapid prototyping; project management services from concept to production.

2. Fine Limit Sheet Metal Work. Typical applications include aircraft sheet metal work with full traceability and certification of materials. We manufacture Avionics Filter housings or T - pots for the Airbus aircraft.

3. CNC Milling and Turning. We undertake CNC machining with our 3 axis turning and vertical machining centres. We exclusively manufacture an air powered line launcher used by military special forces to cross gaps or climb up buildings.

4. Welding and Fabrication. We manufacture structures up to two tonnes in mild steel, stainless or aluminium and have a strong reputation providing high quality, complex ISO Container Conversions.

5. Tube Bending. We manufacture items including boat A frames, tubes and pipes in square or round tube up to 75mm

6. Painting and Finishing. We have wet spray, powder coat and alocrom 1200 facilities.

Our engineering team of highly experienced craftsmen are based at our factory in Chichester, West Sussex
