PUBS, cafés and restaurants are getting their menus ready for a special week-long event in Sunderland next month (September).
Sunderland Restaurant Week, organised by Sunderland BID, takes place between Saturday 8 and Sunday 16 September, with a variety of deals at £5, £10 and £15 for diners to take advantage of.
More than 30 restaurants have pledged to take part so far, with even more expected to sign up in the coming weeks.
And Restaurant Week continues to grow, with new eateries coming on board for the first time including Olive Street coffee shop, Bean and Grape, The Pickle bar and kitchen at Vine Place and Esquires Coffee House at the Bridges.
Returning restaurants include Port of Call at Park Lane, El Nido Mexicana at Frederick Street and The Lambton Worm at Low Row.
Sharon Appleby, Head of Business Operations at Sunderland BID is delighted that the event is returning to the city for a fifth time.
“Restaurant Week is a great opportunity for diners to try somewhere new in the city, as well as find a great deal at their favourite restaurants and bars,” said Sharon.
“We have a fantastic food scene in Sunderland and this is a great chance to showcase what’s on offer. Hopefully diners will find new eateries that they want to continue to support after the week is up.
“We expect Restaurant Week to be really popular, so I would urge diners with their eye on a particular restaurant to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.”
