- Open up social enterprise for all in Sunderland, from start-ups to long-established businesses and cooperatives.
- Helping Sunderland’s growing social enterprise and cooperative sector make change happen.
- Creating a sustainable and resilient social economy in Sunderland
Like traditional businesses, social enterprises aim to make a profit, but they re-invest or donate those profits to create social change. They exist in all sectors, cafes and cinemas, mental health services, community banks and gyms, school uniform hubs and community gardens. They improve local people’s life chances and provide training and employment opportunities.
Eligibility
To qualify for free support from social enterprise advisers, you need to live in Sunderland, have an idea for a new enterprise which will have a positive social impact, or have plans to expand an existing social enterprise in the city.
